About Harpoons
What is Harpoons?
Harpoons is the AI context layer for SaaS sales teams that sell to a short list of high-value accounts. It researches your target accounts every week, ranks them by who to contact now and shows the reasons, with dated sources. See the product overview.
Who is Harpoons for?
SaaS businesses that sell valuable deals to a defined list of companies. The people who use it are founders, sales leaders and account executives. It suits teams whose market is a few thousand buyers, where every approach counts.
How is Harpoons different from a contact database?
A contact database helps you find people and their details. Harpoons tells you which accounts to contact now, why, who to talk to and how to open. Many teams use both: Harpoons to decide, and their usual tools to reach out.
How is Harpoons different from intent data?
Intent data estimates a company’s interest from patterns in large data sets. Harpoons shows specific, dated events at each account, such as a new leader or a migration. You can check the source and mention it in your first message.
Do I need an operations team to use Harpoons?
No. Your account manager agrees your factors with you, and we build and run the research. You don’t build lists, workflows or scoring rules yourself.
Getting started
How do I get started?
It starts with a scoring call of up to 90 minutes. We agree ten factors with you. You send your target accounts, or an ICP we can build a list from. Then we research them, and you get a ranked priority list that updates every week. See how to get started.
What is the scoring call?
A call of up to 90 minutes with the people who will use Harpoons. We learn which companies you want to win and why your best customers bought. Together, we agree the ten factors that tell you an account is worth contacting now.
Do I need a list of target accounts?
No. If you have company names and websites, send them. If you have a list in another format, send the file as it is. If you don’t have a list yet, tell us your ideal customer profile (ICP), and we pull the list for you.
How many companies can Harpoons track for me?
The standard plan covers up to 1,000 companies. Custom plans cover as many as you need.
Research and evidence
What sources do you use?
Company websites and announcements, news, executive posts and interviews, job postings, public filings and conference records. We check each source for usage rights, quality and reliability before we use it. See the signals we track.
How often is the research updated?
We check your accounts every week. Facts that rarely change are checked less often. Every account shows when each fact was last checked.
What happens when you can’t find evidence?
The account shows that the factor is unknown. We don’t count a missing answer as a yes or a no, and we don’t fill the gap with a guess.
What if you find old news?
It keeps its original date. A story from last year that we find today is shown as last year’s story, not as something new this week.
Where do contact details come from?
From contact data providers or from your own lists. Our AI research never writes or guesses email addresses or phone numbers. Each contact shows when their details were last checked.
Scoring
What are factors?
A factor is a question about an account that tells you it’s a good time to talk. For example, “Has a new finance leader started in the last 90 days?” Every client has ten factors, agreed on their scoring call. See custom scoring.
Can I change my factors?
Yes. Talk to your account manager. A new factor can need new research, so it can take time to set up.
Can I change how much each factor counts?
Yes. Change the weights in Harpoons at any time. When you save, the priority list updates for everyone on your team.
Is the score the chance that an account will buy?
No. A score ranks your accounts by how strong the reasons to contact them are right now. It tells you where to start, not what will happen.
Outreach and AI agents
Does Harpoons send emails for me?
No. Harpoons doesn’t send messages, post or contact anyone for you. It suggests a first message, and you decide what to send with the tools you already use.
Can I edit the suggested opening?
Yes. Suggested openings are drafts. Each one shows the research it came from, so you can check it and change it.
Which AI agents work with Harpoons?
Claude and Codex, through MCP. Other agents that support MCP connect in the same way. Agents get read-only access to your company’s data. See AI agents.
Does Harpoons work with my CRM?
Custom plans include CRM integration with HubSpot, Salesforce and other CRMs. Tell us what you use when you request a demo.
Pricing
How much does Harpoons cost?
$999 a month for up to 1,000 companies. Larger lists cost $0.999 per company a month, billed quarterly or annually, with 10% off annual billing. See pricing.
Do you charge per user?
No. You pay for the number of companies in your list. Your team shares one priority list.
Are phone numbers included?
Mobile phone numbers aren’t included in the standard plan. You can add them to a custom plan.
Privacy
Can other clients see my target accounts?
No. Your target accounts, factors, weights, scores and notes are private to your company. If two clients track the same company, neither can find out that the other does. See security and privacy.
Where does Harpoons run?
On Google Cloud.
